Polyester-cotton refers to polyester-cotton blended fabrics. Polyester is the main component. It is made of 65%-67% polyester and 33%-35% cotton blended yarn. The polyester-cotton cloth is commonly known as cotton. Let's take a look at the difference between cotton and polyester cotton!

How to distinguish between cotton and polyester cotton

Cotton cloth:

Cotton cloth refers to fabrics made from cotton as raw materials. Pure cotton cloth has good hygroscopicity and breathability; the surface gloss is soft; the hand feel is soft but not smooth; the cloth surface of pure cotton cloth has fine impurities such as cottonseed; it is easy to wrinkle, and it will be released after being grasped by hand. Obviously wrinkled and not easy to recover.

Polyester cotton fabric introduction

It should be said that the character of pure cotton cloth is easy-going. No matter whether it is cut or sewn, it will not make you difficult. Especially in the production of patchwork, pure cotton cloth and pure cotton cloth, cotton cloth and cotton on the back can be perfectly integrated, making the work look natural.

Cotton fabric can be divided into:

Plain weave: The surface is flat, and the warp and weft yarns are interwoven once every other yarn. The plain cloth can be divided into a thick flat cloth, a medium flat cloth and a fine flat cloth according to the thickness of the warp and weft yarns used.

Twill: The warp and weft are interlaced on the top or bottom of the fabric, creating a distinct 45° diagonal texture on the front of the fabric. In the case of the same count yarn, the twill is thicker than the plain cloth.

Satin cloth: Satin cloth is rarely seen on the market of cotton. It is common that some silk fabrics (such as silk quilt, Tang attire fabric, etc.) have only one kind of warp and weft in the structure. Surface and cover another uniform tissue point that is evenly distributed.

Pure cotton cloth can be divided into plain cloth, bleached cloth, yarn-dyed cloth and printed cloth according to color.

Plain color cloth: Plain color cloth refers to cloth dyed in a single color without pattern.

Bleached cloth: A bleached cloth of a primary color fabric.

Printed cloth: After printing, the printed cloth has a clear front and clear pattern, and the reverse pattern is dull.

Yarn-dyed fabric: Japan is called the first dyed fabric. Most of the fabrics are dyed after being woven into fabrics, and the yarn-dyed fabrics are dyed and then woven. Most of the plaid and striped fabrics we often see are yarn-dyed fabrics. In fact, denim is also a yarn-dyed fabric, usually made of eucalyptus-dyed warp yarns and natural-colored weft yarns.

There are many members of the cotton fabric family, such as canvas, denim, corduroy, velveteen and so on.

Polyester cotton cloth:

Polyester and cotton, commonly known as "the good", is a fabric woven from 65% to 67% polyester and 33% to 35% cotton blended yarn.

The polyester cotton cloth is brighter than pure cotton cloth, and the cloth surface is flat, clean and free of yarn ends or impurities. It feels smooth and crisp, and its elasticity is better than that of pure cotton. After the hand is squeezed, the fabric is loosened, the crease is not obvious, and it is easy to return to its original state.

Polyester/cotton cloth is a product developed in China in the early 1960s. In the era of lack of materials and lack of color, polyester-cotton cloth is popular for its bright, crisp, and wear-resistant properties. In today's focus on nature, environmental protection and health, polyester-cotton fabrics are left out due to shortcomings such as static electricity, moisture absorption, poor gas permeability and poor degradation.

In addition to polyester cotton, there is also a kind of cotton polyester. The difference between the two is that polyester cotton is high in polyester, while cotton polyester is high in cotton, above 60%.

The difference between polyester cotton cloth and pure cotton cloth:

Nowadays, many merchants call pure cotton cotton, because the two are really similar, and the polyester cotton is bright and the fiber structure is firmer and finer. So everyone must learn how to identify, so as not to be fooled.

Visually, the color of the polyester cotton cloth is brighter than that of the pure cotton cloth; if it is a printed cloth, the contrast of the color density of the front and back of the cotton cloth will be larger, and the color of the front and back of the polyester cotton cloth is closer.

On the hand, the cotton cloth is soft but not smooth, and the polyester cotton cloth feels slippery when touched.

Combustion method, which is also the most intuitive method widely adopted by the industry. Pure cotton cloth, a little bit, the flame is yellow, the burning smell is the same as burning paper, the burning edge is soft, leaving little gray-black floc ash; the polyester cotton will shrink and then melt when approaching the flame. Black smoke, giving off a taste of inferior fragrance. After burning, the edges become hard. The ash is dark brown and hard, but it can be broken.

Washing and maintenance methods for cotton cloth and finished products:

1. The cotton cloth will shrink. The newly purchased cotton cloth must be soaked in 40°C-50°C warm water and dried. When it is dried to 90% dry, iron it with iron.

2, when the water is soaked, you can add some salt, not only to prevent the cotton from fading but also to make the color bright and lasting.

3. When washing pure cotton products, you can add some salt or white vinegar to soak, and high-grade products can add a small amount of alum.

4, the washing temperature depends on the color of the cotton cloth, generally 40 ° C -50 ° C, the color of the bright or dark water should not be too high; white non-perspiration cotton can use high temperature water.

5, cotton with sweat should not be washed at high temperature, because the protein in the sweat will solidify and adhere to the fiber to form a yellow spot.

6, cotton cloth and its products can not be exposed to the sun, should be dried in a cool and ventilated place. The cotton cloth is more resistant to high temperatures during ironing and can be ironed at a high temperature of 200 °C.
